At least one dead and four injured in Paris suburb shooting

One person was killed and at least four others injured in a shooting in Trappes, west of Paris, on Friday morning. Mayor Ali Rabeh said a person fired from a vehicle at several people, while Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez said the attacker appeared to have used an automatic weapon. The suspect was arrested and placed in police custody; France’s National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation into murder connected with a terrorist enterprise, possession of a Category A weapon and conspiracy with a terrorist group. French media reports suggested the number of injured could be higher and that a 12-year-old child may be among them.
