According to the OECD's Taxing Wages 2026 report, gross annual wages in Europe vary significantly, ranging from €18,590 in Turkey to €107,487 in Switzerland, which remains the highest-paying country. Iceland and Luxembourg follow with average salaries of €85,950 and €77,844 respectively. At the lower end, Slovakia records the lowest average annual wage in the EU at €19,590, with nine of the 22 EU countries having average wages below €30,000.
