77th Anniversary of China: Abidjan Reaffirms Support for the 'One China' Principle

Ivory Coast reaffirmed its support for the 'One China' principle during a reception in Abidjan on September 29, 2026, attended by President Alassane Ouattara, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Minister Adama Dosso, and other officials. Dosso emphasized that this stance reflects Ivory Coast’s commitment to Chinese sovereignty, especially regarding Taiwan. The event also highlighted the growth of bilateral trade, which reached $7.42 billion in 2025, up 46.9%, with China remaining Ivory Coast’s top trading partner. Several cooperation projects, including the Ferkessédougou dry port, were mentioned to strengthen economic ties.
