The UNCCD COP17 took place in Ulaanbaatar, where a $1.3 billion investment portfolio for land restoration and drought resilience was announced. The Rangelands Flagship Initiative launched a $1.2 billion portfolio, while the International Drought Resilience Alliance introduced the Drought Resilience Index. Indigenous Peoples were also placed at the center of land restoration, calling for stronger land rights and meaningful participation.
