US troop drawdown won’t weaken Nigeria security ties — DHQ

The Defence Headquarters stated that the planned withdrawal of about 200 US military personnel deployed to Nigeria will not affect the longstanding security partnership between the two countries. Spokesman Maj.-Gen. Samaila Uba emphasized that cooperation in intelligence, training, and information sharing will continue. He also noted that Nigeria remains primarily responsible for its own defense and that the cooperation aims to strengthen the capacity of Nigerian security forces.
