Abidjan: Conakry blocks passports of 2 Guineans attending Sidya Touré's funeral

Two FNDC leaders, Ibrahima Diallo and Sékou Koundouno, traveled to Abidjan to pay tribute to Sidya Touré, former Guinean Prime Minister who died on September 26. After the funeral, their Guinean passports were revoked by Conakry while they were still in Ivory Coast, making their return to Guinea uncertain. The FNDC, an opposition coalition against the military junta since the 2021 coup, faces ongoing repression and restrictive measures. The passport revocations are part of broader restrictions on civil liberties in Guinea.
