DRC: Ebola outbreak spreads to new provinces, over 600 dead

New suspected Ebola cases have been detected in the previously unaffected provinces of Tshopo and Haut-Uele in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The national toll stands at 1,759 confirmed cases and 600 deaths. Two suspected cases were reported in Kisangani, one with no apparent link to known hotspots. The outbreak, declared on May 15, continues to spread beyond its initial focus in Ituri.
