Malian army and Russian paramilitaries retake control of Anéfis

The Malian army and Russian paramilitaries of Africa Corps have recaptured the town of Anéfis in northern Mali after days of fighting against Tuareg separatists of the FLA and jihadists of JNIM. On July 4, these groups attacked and claimed control of the town, but Malian soldiers and Russians holed up in a military camp held out. Reinforcements arriving Thursday evening enabled them to push back the attackers and reestablish army control.
