Tinubu borrows like Shark, heads most ruinous govt ever in Nigeria - Atiku

Atiku Abubakar, ADC presidential candidate, described Bola Tinubu’s administration as one of Nigeria’s most ruinous governments, criticizing the removal of fuel subsidies, rising public revenues, and continued borrowing leading to a public debt of 166.79 trillion nairas as of June 2026. He condemned the gap between official economic recovery claims and the reality of ordinary Nigerians suffering from increased costs of food, fuel, transport, and energy. Atiku urged Tinubu to transparently account for the debt, including old, foreign, and new loans, and questioned the true success of the economy based on citizens' living conditions.
