Richard Akinnola flays CDHR faction over comments on SERAP/ DSS court judgement

Richard Akinnola, a veteran journalist and lawyer, criticized a faction of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) for siding with the Department of State Services (DSS) against the Socio-Economic and Accountability Project (SERAP) over a defamation court ruling. Justice Halilu Yusuf ordered SERAP to pay 100 million Naira to two DSS operatives and to publish an apology. Akinnola described the CDHR's stance as a betrayal of the civil society community, questioning their demand for SERAP to comply with the judgment while it plans to appeal.
