Rights Group warns against shrinking civic space over Ndibe airport questioning

CEHRAWS raised concerns over the shrinking civic space in Nigeria after writer Okey Ndibe was questioned at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. Executive Director Okoye Chuka Peter warned that treating dissent as a security threat weakens public trust in democratic institutions. He cited Sections 39 and 40 of the Nigerian Constitution guaranteeing freedom of expression and association. The group called for upholding constitutional rights and protecting civic space.
