Rights groups, Milwaukee leaders slam ICE’s arrest of Palestinian advocate

Ten Muslim civil rights groups issued a joint letter denouncing the arrest of Palestinian American community leader Salah Sarsour by ICE agents in Milwaukee. Sarsour, president of the Islamic Society of Milwaukee, was arrested on March 30 and transferred to detention facilities in Illinois and then Indiana, leaving his family scrambling for information. The groups assert that he is being targeted due to his Palestinian and Muslim background.
