Gombe Treats 74 Cholera Patients and Declares an Outbreak

Gombe State declared a cholera outbreak in Kedo village, Todi Ward, after two people reportedly died on October 4, 2026. Health Commissioner Prof. Adamu-Danladi Bojude said 74 patients had received free treatment and been discharged, with no new cases recorded for seven days as of October 21. A rapid response team and an incident management system at the Public Health Emergency Operations Centre are coordinating surveillance and the response; the outbreak could be declared over on October 24 if no further cases are found.
