Ruto Raises Daily Athlete Allowance to Ksh25,000 and Ksh38,000 for Officials

President William Ruto announced an increase in daily allowances for athletes to Ksh25,000 and for officials to Ksh38,000 during the welcoming ceremony for world record holder Sebastian Sawe. Gold medal winners in athletics will now receive Ksh3 million, while Commonwealth Games gold medalists will receive Ksh2.5 million. Ruto also announced the establishment of Constituency Sports Academies to identify and nurture talent at the grassroots level.
