Ruto Reveals Makutano–Meru Highway as New Multi-Billion Dual Carriageway Under National Infrastructure Fund

President William Ruto announced plans to upgrade the Makutano-Meru highway into a dual carriageway through the new National Infrastructure Fund. The 169-kilometre project will improve transport between Meru and Nairobi and serve as a critical infrastructure artery for agricultural trade. Ruto also assured that funds are available for the construction of the Nithi Bridge, a notorious black spot, and called for increased collaboration to ensure its swift completion.
