Kenya’s Ruto turns to Africa’s spy chiefs to break AU reform deadlock

Kenyan President William Ruto is reaching out to African intelligence chiefs to identify sources of resistance to African Union (AU) reforms. At a closing dinner for the Mashariki Cooperation Conference, he emphasized that the current AU is not fit for the continent's needs and called for collaboration to overcome reform obstacles. Ruto also noted that his predecessor, Paul Kagame, faced similar frustrations in the reform process.
