Rwandan Genocide: Appeal trial for Eugène Rwamucyo in Paris

Eugène Rwamucyo, a 67-year-old Rwandan doctor, appears Tuesday before the Paris Assize Court on appeal of his 27-year prison sentence for complicity in genocide and crimes against humanity related to the 1994 Rwandan genocide. He hopes to be acquitted. His defense team has increased from 2 to 7 lawyers. He is implicated in burying bodies in mass graves in Butare, executing the wounded, and inciting violence.
