Amnesty denounces M23 abuses against minors in the East and gold and coltan trafficking to Rwanda

Amnesty International documented human rights violations in mining areas controlled by the M23 in North Kivu and South Kivu, including extrajudicial executions, torture, and arbitrary detentions. The organization reports the deaths of 18 artisanal miners, with ten beaten to death and two shot. Additionally, cases of forced labor and recruitment of minors were reported, along with gold trafficking to Rwanda.
