Sudan: Abdel Fattah al-Burhan Denied Visa to the United States

Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the head of the Sudanese army, has been denied a visa to the United States, preventing him from addressing the United Nations General Assembly. The U.S. administration has linked the visa issuance to his participation in a proposed 90-day ceasefire. Sudanese authorities contest this decision, citing violations of the UN Convention and international law. A State Department spokesperson stated that neither al-Burhan nor the Sudanese armed forces represent legitimate governance in Sudan.
