Advocacy Against the Recruitment of Children into Armed Groups in Beni

Child protection advocates called for an end to the recruitment of children into armed groups in Beni, North Kivu, during a workshop on May 12. Rex Antoma emphasized the importance of collective responsibility to protect children and urged the provincial government to ensure their release and return to families. In 2025, over 300 people, including many children, were forcibly recruited by armed groups in the region, a phenomenon deemed alarming by MONUSCO.
