The French cement company Lafarge and eight former executives were found guilty by the Paris court of financing terrorism in 2013 and 2014. They paid nearly 5.6 million euros to jihadist groups, including the Islamic State, to keep a factory running during the war in Syria. The court president emphasized that these funds enabled the IS to prepare attacks, including those in January 2015 in France.
