Sahara: Mali Aligns with Morocco's Position

On April 10, 2026, Mali announced in Bamako the end of its recognition of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (RASD), a decision made by Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop. This withdrawal marks a break from a position held since 1980 and is accompanied by support for Morocco's autonomy plan, seen as the only credible basis for resolving the conflict.
