Sahel: US Army Admits It Can No Longer Track ISIS and Al-Qaeda

General Dagvin Anderson, head of US Africa Command, informed the US Senate that the Pentagon lacks the means to detect the capabilities of ISIS and Al-Qaeda affiliates in the Sahel. The withdrawal of US military bases in Niger in September 2024 worsened the situation, making it difficult to monitor jihadist movements.
