On Monday, three undocumented migrants, including a 10-year-old boy, died off the French coast while attempting to reach Britain on a rubber boat. The vessel, departing from Sangatte with 105 people onboard, called for help around 8 a.m., about six kilometers from the English coast. Two women in their thirties and the child, likely of Eritrean origin, died in a rush caused by the overcrowding of the boat. The remaining passengers were rescued and brought ashore in Calais, some on stretchers or wrapped in survival blankets.
