Senate extends 2025 Budget implementation to September

The Senate has extended the implementation of the capital component of the 2025 budget by three months, moving the deadline to September 30, 2026. The motion was sponsored by Senate Chief Whip Tahir Monguno to prevent project abandonment and ensure proper use of funds. This is the third extension, following previous deadlines of March 31 and June 30, 2026. Senate President Godswill Akpabio backed the extension as within the legislature's constitutional powers.
