Senegal: "Civil Status at Home", a program to guarantee every citizen a legal identity

The "Civil Status at Home" program was launched in Gandiaye to address the issue of thousands of Senegalese living without legal identity. Matar Ndao, director of ANEC, emphasized the importance of civil status for accessing education and fundamental rights. The government, led by President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye and Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, is implementing concrete actions, including community awareness and training of agents. Challenges remain, such as fraud and limited access to services, but national meetings are planned to find sustainable solutions.
