Midnight siege in Sokoto; villagers abducted, injured

The Chacho community in Wurno Local Government Area was attacked by armed bandits late Wednesday night, leaving several villagers injured and traumatized. The attack, which occurred around 11 p.m., caused panic among residents who fled in all directions to escape the assailants. Preliminary reports indicate that at least nine people, mostly women and elderly men, may have been abducted. The Sokoto State Police confirmed the incident and launched an operation to track down the perpetrators.
