Ola Olukoyede, chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), expressed concern that six in ten Nigerian university students are involved in cybercrime. At the COPSUN biennial conference in Kano, he highlighted deep-seated structural problems within the university system contributing to this trend. He also noted that many students arrested for cybercrime compromised academic integrity by placing lecturers on payroll.
