Three years into the conflict in Sudan, nearly 70% of the population lives below the poverty line, according to the UNDP. This figure has significantly increased from 38% before the war began in April 2023. At least a quarter of Sudanese survive on less than two dollars a day, illustrating the economic collapse caused by fighting between the army and paramilitaries.
