The Academy of Sciences, Arts, Cultures of Africa and Diasporas (ASCAD) opened a two-day international seminar at ENSEA in Abidjan on 'Water and Food Security in Ivory Coast for Sustainable Development'. President Aké N'Gbo emphasized the multidisciplinary nature of the issue, going beyond economic and agronomic aspects. Over 80% of Ivorian agricultural production depends on rainfall, increasing the vulnerability of poor populations. Professor Bakary Tuo-Touré gave the inaugural lecture, stating that without water management, there is no sustainable food security.
