Employment and Industrialization: Cameroon Activates a 42.6 Billion FCFA Project, Mainly Financed by AfDB

On June 1, 2026, the Cameroonian government launched the Project to Support Entrepreneurship Promotion and Skills Improvement for Industrialization (PEAC) in Yaoundé, with a total cost of 42.6 billion FCFA. The program is mainly financed by a loan of 63.09 million euros (about 41.4 billion FCFA) from the African Development Bank (AfDB), approved in July 2023. PEAC aims to address the shortage of skilled human resources in key economic sectors and covers five regions: Centre, Littoral, South, Southwest, and Far North. It primarily targets youth and women, focusing on sectors such as construction, transport, energy, agro-industry, green jobs, and information technology.
