SYNABEPAM Strike at DGAM: After a Day of Tensions, Employees Resume Work

Employees of the Directorate General of Maritime Affairs (DGAM) resumed work on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, after a one-day strike called by the Union Acting for the Well-being of Maritime Affairs Personnel (SYNABEPAM). The strike on June 8 was to protest slow progress on nine demands including pay raises, housing allowance, operational equipment, and more. A strike notice had been filed on April 20, 2026, with several government authorities.
