Life imprisonment requested against General Philémon Yav

On September 3, 2026, the prosecution requested life imprisonment for General Philémon Yav, who is charged with treason and participation in an insurrectionary movement before the Military High Court. Lieutenant General Lucien-René Likulia asked for the offenses to be established and for the defendants to benefit from mitigating circumstances while maintaining the life sentence. This is the second case involving General Yav, who is also being tried alongside his co-defendant Shauri for similar offenses.
