JOJ 2026: the Gendarmerie simulates a major accident on the Autoroute de l'Avenir

The national Gendarmerie conducted a large-scale accident simulation on the Autoroute de l'Avenir on Monday, September 28, 2026, between Sébikotane and Diamniadio, to test emergency response for the Youth Olympic Games 2026. The exercise caused a traffic disruption with a three-kilometer congestion and coincided with a real accident involving five cars on the same highway. The concession company apologized to users and reminded them of a free helpline for assistance.
