Police foil mob action against suspected motorcycle thieves in Kebbi

The Kebbi State Police Command foiled an attempt by a mob to lynch two individuals accused of motorcycle theft in the Gesse Phase 1 area of Birnin Kebbi. The suspects, Rufai Salihu and Aliyu Muhammad, were attacked on August 26, 2026, but were rescued by police operatives. During the operation, one Boxer motorcycle was recovered, and seven abandoned motorcycles were impounded. Commissioner of Police, CP Umar M. Hadejia, condemned mob justice and urged the public to allow lawful authorities to investigate allegations.
