Artemis II marks historic lunar return with Pacific splashdown success

The Artemis II astronauts completed humanity's first lunar journey in over 50 years with a successful splashdown in the Pacific. Their mission unveiled previously unseen areas of the lunar far side and paved the way for another crew's moon landing in two years. The Orion capsule, named Integrity, executed its descent automatically, reaching speeds of Mach 33 before splashing down in the ocean.
