Conte dismisses Manchester United rumours as Carrick’s future remains uncertain

Antonio Conte has called reports linking him to Manchester United, including claims that he demanded control of transfers and made financial demands, “unfounded.” The former Napoli manager, who left after winning the 2024–25 Serie A title, says he is not in advanced negotiations with any club and will wait until the conditions are right before returning to management. Michael Carrick’s position is under scrutiny after United’s 4–1 defeat to Como extended their winless run to seven matches; Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann have also been linked with the job. Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler said he remains focused on his club and voiced respect for Carrick.
