The SSANU chapter at Sokoto State University directed members to resume work on November 9, following a five-day warning strike. It gave the state government 14 working days, until November 27, 2026, to meet its demands, warning that it would otherwise launch a total and indefinite strike. The demands include salary arrears linked to a 25% increase, implementation of a 35% CONTTA allowance, annual increments and payment of outstanding union dues. SSANU urged Governor Ahmed Aliyu to intervene and called for concrete approvals, clear implementation timelines and full payment of the amounts owed.
