Taiwan accuses Kenya of deporting conference delegates on China’s behalf

Taiwan accused Kenya of deporting two delegation members heading to the Our Ocean Conference in Mombasa, blaming Beijing for exerting pressure. The scholars' passports and mobile phones were confiscated, and they were detained for over 20 hours before being deported. Kenya defended its decision, citing its foreign policy that recognizes only one China and stating that Taiwanese passports are not valid documentation. Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the actions as barbaric and a violation of human rights and international norms.
