Taiwanese opposition leader to meet China’s Xi in a test of diplomatic skill

Cheng Li-wun, chairperson of the Kuomintang (KMT), is traveling to China to meet with President Xi Jinping, marking a critical moment for her political career. Before her trip, she expressed her intention to show that Taiwan and China are not destined for war. Cheng will also visit Nanjing before her summit with Xi in Beijing.
