Tambuwal steps down from Senate race, backs ex-commissioner

Former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has withdrawn from the 2027 Sokoto South Senatorial race, ceding the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ticket to former Commissioner for Finance, Faruk Malami-Yabo. This decision followed consultations and internal disagreements over candidate selection, aimed at maintaining peace and stability within the party. ADC's Publicity Secretary, Lamir Aminu, stated that this move reflects the party's ideology of promoting youth participation in politics.
