Tanzania earns 1.2 million dollars from woodlands as forest hiking starts aping wildlife tourism

Tanzania's woodlands have generated around 3.1 billion Tanzanian shillings, equivalent to 1.2 million dollars, from eco-tourism activities attracting nearly 330,000 visitors. Tourism Minister Ashatu Kijaji noted that infrastructure investments have boosted forest trekking, with visitor numbers increasing by over 20%. Events such as the Tukutane Mt. Rungwe Season II and the Mkwawa Rally are also energizing forest tourism.
