Belgian Searches Targeting the Tshisekedis: Diaspora Collective Remains Outraged and Appeals to Belgian Authorities

The International Collective of the Congolese Diaspora (CIDC) and several partner associations wrote to Belgian authorities to denounce searches targeting members of President Félix Tshisekedi’s circle. In their letter dated October 22, they expressed their “indignation and strong protest” and cited the war in eastern DR Congo and former president Joseph Kabila’s support for the Rwandan aggression. The groups argue that national unity and mobilization should take priority amid the security and humanitarian crisis.
