Mali’s army says it struck two bases in one day and located military equipment

The Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) say they struck two bases belonging to armed groups on October 17, 2026, as part of Operation Dougoukoloko. The first target, 100 km northwest of Ménaka, reportedly housed fighters as well as military and logistical equipment. The second site, located using intelligence 40 km northeast of Diafarabé, was also struck. The army has not yet provided casualty or equipment-loss figures and says surveillance and reconnaissance operations continue in both areas.
