Three African Cities in Time Out's 2026 Top 20 Global Art and Culture Destinations

Cape Town (5th), Marrakech (12th), and Cairo (16th) are in the top 20 of Time Out's 2026 Best Cities for Culture ranking, released on May 13, 2026. Africa is the only region with three cities in the list. The ranking is based on responses from 24,000 residents and evaluations from over 100 Time Out editors and experts, with a 70% weight on local opinion. Cape Town achieves the best result for an African city since the ranking began in 2016.
