President Bola Tinubu signed the NIMC Act 2026 into law, strengthening Nigeria's identity management system. Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo disclosed that the integration of NIMC database with immigration and Interpol systems led to the arrest of seven suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP commanders at Katsina Airport returning from Hajj.
