Togo: A student commits suicide after failing Bac 1

A female student from Lycée Zomayi in Zio prefecture, Togo, committed suicide by hanging after learning she failed the Bac 1 (Brevet d'Études du Premier Cycle) exam. The results had just been released, with 76,259 candidates taking the exam and a national pass rate of 73.05% (55,707 passed). The student's funeral was held in her hometown.
