Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline: Algeria, Nigeria and Niger validate the feasibility study

On June 3, 2026, Algeria hosted the fifth ministerial meeting of the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline (TSGP) steering committee. The ministers of Hydrocarbons from Algeria (Mohamed Arkab), Nigeria (Ekperikpe Ekpo), and Niger (Hamadou Tini) approved the final updated feasibility study. They decided to start construction on the Algerian section of the pipeline, which is over 4,000 km long and will connect the Niger Delta to Algerian coasts to supply European markets. The project competes with the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline.
