Special Tribunal to Judge Putin: Ukraine Welcomes Commitment from 36 Countries

Thirty-six countries and the European Union have committed to establishing a special tribunal to prosecute Russian leaders for the crime of aggression against Ukraine during a meeting in Chisinau, Moldova. This tribunal, based in The Hague, aims to circumvent the limitations of the International Criminal Court. Twelve members of the Council of Europe, including Hungary and Slovakia, are not participating in the initiative. Council of Europe Secretary-General Alain Berset emphasized the importance of holding Russia accountable for its aggression.
