Trump announces new sanctions against Cuban government

US President Donald Trump has ordered new sanctions against Cuba, targeting a broad set of individuals in the communist-run country and threatening foreign banks that work with them. The measures aim at those involved in key sectors of the Cuban economy, including energy, defense, and financial services, as well as Cuban officials accused of human rights abuses. The sanctioned individuals will be unable to visit the United States.
